Isabel happened to be in my work area as I was adding the title and that is what she said. HA! So Isabel. Allie is a little stinker though. :)

I love October Afternoon. I want to put pinwheels all over everything. Maybe a pink and white garland for Valentine's Day? HHmm I feel a crafty evening coming on!

I used the Martha Stewart scoreboard to make my pinwheels. Super easy. I use hot glue but be careful if you do. I just don't have the patience to wait for glue.

It's been a while since I've posted. My goal this year blog wise is to upload more pics, do more tutorials and get more organized. I realized I have glitter in 4 different places. I think I can get my scrap room to run more efficiently. I will be posting before and after pics so make sure to check back and see my progress and offer advice. Here are some projects some recent some not so recent that I wanted to share. More to come!

This was a custom order for a client that had a cousin with breast cancer and wanted something she could put pictures in. It turned out so cute. I have inside pics of the book I need to post too.

I found this little window box at a thrift store and thought it was cute. I made pinwheel flowers painted for Halloween. I love the Martha Stewart spider web ribbon in the window holes. It fit perfectly. Love it when that happens.

This is a custom book for a good friend of mine. It's for her bff who is equally obsessed as she is with New Kids. They've been on 3 cruises and have been to MANY concerts. They are hilarious.

This shadow box project is one of my faves. I love this pic of my girls and my nephews after a long day of outside summer fun in the Indiana sun. I'll be back soon with more pics and posts!!

Back to School Project for Glue Dots®

It's hard to believe that my girls go back to school next week. Where did summer go? It really flew by and even though my girls are so excited to be going into 1st and 3rd grade I can't help but wish we had more time to play. This project is for Allie to give to her new teacher Mrs. Pruitt. She is so excited to have her. She's a very nice teacher who just so happens to be very pretty and fun. Can't beat that huh?

I bought this picture frame at the dollar store and it came black just the way I wanted it. I used Glue Dots® Permanent to stick the paper to the frame back. I took out the glass of course. The "S" I got at Hobby Lobby and it's really thick chipboard. I used Glue Dots® Craft to help adhere the yarn.

I used Glue Dots® Pop Up to stick the letter to the paper. I like how thick they are and they adhere to the yarn so well I know it's not coming off. I used a Glue Dots® Mini to stick the ribbon to the frame so it didn't come untied and to stick the blue heart on. Allie is SO excited to take it to her when we have the open house. I hope she likes it too. Here's to another school year!

One of my favorite scrapbook pages that I've done using Glue Dots®.

I used Glue Dots® Permanent to hold on the bigger flowers. I used Glue Dots® Pop Up for the smaller orange one on this side of the layout. I used Glue Dots® Lines to adhere the leaves.

I love this little girl and this smile brightens my day. These beautiful flowers are from Prima as is the paper, leaves, bling, lace, paintable, and the packaging used for the background.

I used Glue Dots® Craft to stick down the brick patterned cardboard.

I also used Tim Holtz distress ink in brushed corduroy around all the edges. The alphabet letters are American Crafts Thickers.

Butterfly Cage for Glue Dots®

This little butterfly cage would be soo stinkin cute hanging all around for a baby shower. I love how simple and easy they are to make and the possibilities are endless.

I first cut a piece of paper about 4 inches. It's entirely up to you how tall you want your cage. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch and added Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy over the edges of all the pieces I cut for this project.

The little strips for the top I cut 12 inches long and about a quarter of an inch and again, it's up to you how wide and how many of these you use. I added some pretty lace at the bottom that I found in the dollar bin at Michael's. I used Glue Dots® Lines to attach it all the way around. I used yellow and white bakers twine to string up the banner, the butterfly and the whole thing from the top. I used Glue Dots® Mini to attach all the twine to the butterfly cage and the strips of paper for the top as well. I used them on the very top to keep all the strips together in the center.

This October Afternoon paper set "Fly a Kite" was perfect for what I had in mind. The butterfly is from Creative Imaginations and I used Caramel Apple and Sun Sisters Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels. It took a couple coats to get where I wanted because the felt was soaking up the color but I can tell you it is super sparkly. The Glue Dots® Mini even stuck on top of all that glimmer mist.

I used Glue Dots® Craft to attach the flowers.

I love using double sided paper for this kit. It's cute from any direction. :)

I added another Mini to the top for the little butterfly and that's that. I hope you give it a try. I could make these all day long. They are so cute too and since I used Glue Dots®s to hold everything together I know everything is well secure.

Cute little crate for Glue Dots®

I think one of my most favorite crafty things to do is to alter things. I love looking for things that have another purpose or that can be spruced up and made beautiful again. I also love trying Glue Dots® on different mediums. I've tried paper, plastic, metal, acrylic, cork, and now wood. This little cute crate was plain pine and pretty boring. I love the bright pink and cute little flowers.

I used Glimmer Mist Chalkboard in Polka Dot Pink and Strawberry Shortcake all over. I did mist it down with water first. It really helped to spread the ink around. It is super sparkly and almost glowy in person. I used Glue Dots® Permanent to attach the flowers and Glue Dots® Lines to attach the chipboard piece on the front.

I put this little piece of chipboard on the back. I used Glue Dots® Permanent to attach it.

I gave it a good misting of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist all over the entire thing. I love it that the Glue Dots® don't come off even if I give it a good misting, they always stay put. Love that.

I hope you are inspired to look for things to alter and give new life to an old piece or even spruce up something new. It's easy with Glue Dots®! I think this is super cute for little girl treasures. You could even do green or blue for a boy and his rock collection. :)

United We Stand Wall Hanging

Hello there! We all know 4th of July is right around the corner. I love seeing all the red white and blue out at the stores. All the things for cooking out and for picnic's and endless hours of swimming and summer fun.
I found this frame at Goodwill and it was an awful gold color but I loved the shape and saw lots of potential.

I put a couple coats of Gesso on the frame first to give the white paint something to hold on to. It took 2 coats of white paint on top of the Gesso to cover up the icky gold. I painted the back that is screwed into the back and really wasn't removable so I made do. I sprayed Glimmer Mist for extra sparkle. I used Glue Dots® Permanent to attach the flowers to the frame and to the back. They worked wonderfully. :)

I used Thickers for the letters and added Glue Dots® Mini to help keep them attached. I used Glue Dots® Craft for the stars. I am certain everything is attached well thanks to my Glue Dots®. I used a paint brush and lightly and messily added Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds to the letters and an all over spray for sparkle.
You could remove the glass from a picture frame and do the same type of thing for endless possibilities.

Embellished Sunglasses with Glue Dots®!

Aren't these cute?! My 5 yr old wore these on her field trip to the zoo last week. They matched her shirt and she was so excited. She said everyone loved them. lol

All I did was clean the glasses and stuck the bikini's on with Glue Dots® Mini's. She looked adorable and has asked me to put stars on for the 4th of July. That would be super cute.

You could use little sports embellishments for boys too. It's a great way to customize them so they know which ones are theirs. You could also use this same concept and decorate a headband with Glue Dots®.

Mini Book with Prima

Hello again crafty friends. I made this mini book for my sister in law Darcey. She's been a great friend to me over the years and I love my niece and nephew very much.

She has started to scrapbook and has what I think a natural talent for it. I want her to finish the book with the title on the cover and other page titles and journaling.

The Prima paper set Madeline is a fave of mine and it is so easy to work with because it all goes together beautifully.

I used pink and blue Prima flowers. There is also some Bling and Lace too.

I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Wheatfields to grunge it up just a little bit.

I hope you are inspired to create a mini book. They are so much fun.

Love Wall Hanging

Hello crafty friends! I was finally able to use Blogger today. It's been fighting with me for a couple weeks. Hopefully we've come to a truce. This project was made out of burlap and an embroidery hoop.

I used Prima lace, flowers, journal card, leaves, and embellishments. I love how beautiful the flowers are. This picture of my sister in law and niece is one of my faves. If she lets me keep it I know where I'm going to put it.

I used Tattered Angels mask and glimmer mist in vanilla breeze, tattered leather and creme de chocolat. I used light coats until I was happy with the color. It makes a pretty shimmer even on the burlap. I painted on the little white flowers with the vanilla breeze to soften the stark white.

I just love how pretty and sparkly it is. Perfect for the two of them!

Mother's Day Gift for Glue Dots

I can't believe Mother's Day is right around the corner. I found this magnetic chalkboard and thought I could spruce it up for my Mom to display photos of the grandkids on. I used Glue Dots® Continuous Line to attach the trim. It was so easy to use and the trim is very secure. I also used Glue Dots® Permanent to attach all the flowers and the stitched letters.

I am always pleased with how easy Glue Dots® are to use. I love that what I stick down will be stuck for good. :)

I hope she likes it! If not, I have the perfect spot for it! LOL!! Grab some Glue Dots® and make something special for you Mom or Mother in Law or even a Grandmother!

Cinco De Mayo Decoration for Glue Dots®

Well, I can actually say this is my first go at a decoration for Cinco De Mayo. I love the fun and festive colors. I plan on putting this on my kitchen table. As you can see something so simple can turn out so cute! I just stuck some Glue Dots® Permanent on the "back" and pushed both ends in the dot to secure and tucked in the flag. I used a dot on the back to keep it in place.

Here is some history I found...

The 5th of May is not Mexican Independence Day, but it should be! And Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, but it should be. Mexico declared its independence from mother Spain on midnight, the 15th of September, 1810. And it took 11 years before the first Spanish soldiers were told and forced to leave Mexico.

So, why Cinco de Mayo? And why should Americans savor this day as well? Because 4,000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City on the morning of May 5, 1862.

The French had landed in Mexico (along with Spanish and English troops) five months earlier on the pretext of collecting Mexican debts from the newly elected government of democratic President (and Indian) Benito Juarez. The English and Spanish quickly made deals and left. The French, however, had different ideas.

Under Emperor Napoleon III, who detested the United States, the French came to stay. They brought a Hapsburg prince with them to rule the new Mexican empire. His name was Maximilian; his wife, Carolota. Napoleon's French Army had not been defeated in 50 years, and it invaded Mexico with the finest modern equipment and with a newly reconstituted Foreign Legion. The French were not afraid of anyone, especially since the United States was embroiled in its own Civil War.

The French Army left the port of Vera Cruz to attack Mexico City to the west, as the French assumed that the Mexicans would give up should their capital fall to the enemy -- as European countries traditionally did.

Under the command of Texas-born General Zaragosa, (and the cavalry under the command of Colonel Porfirio Diaz, later to be Mexico's president and dictator), the Mexicans awaited. Brightly dressed French Dragoons led the enemy columns. The Mexican Army was less stylish.

General Zaragosa ordered Colonel Diaz to take his cavalry, the best in the world, out to the French flanks. In response, the French did a most stupid thing; they sent their cavalry off to chase Diaz and his men, who proceeded to butcher them. The remaining French infantrymen charged the Mexican defenders through sloppy mud from a thunderstorm and through hundreds of head of stampeding cattle stirred up by Indians armed only with machetes.

When the battle was over, many French were killed or wounded and their cavalry was being chased by Diaz' superb horsemen miles away. The Mexicans had won a great victory that kept Napoleon III from supplying the confederate rebels for another year, allowing the United States to build the greatest army the world had ever seen. This grand army smashed the Confederates at Gettysburg just 14 months after the battle of Puebla, essentially ending the Civil War.

Union forces were then rushed to the Texas/Mexican border under General Phil Sheridan, who made sure that the Mexicans got all the weapons and ammunition they needed to expel the French. American soldiers were discharged with their uniforms and rifles if they promised to join the Mexican Army to fight the French. The American Legion of Honor marched in the Victory Parade in Mexico, City.

It might be a historical stretch to credit the survival of the United States to those brave 4,000 Mexicans who faced an army twice as large in 1862. But who knows?

In gratitude, thousands of Mexicans crossed the border after Pearl Harbor to join the U.S. Armed Forces. As recently as the Persian Gulf War, Mexicans flooded American consulates with phone calls, trying to join up and fight another war for America.

Mexicans, you see, never forget who their friends are, and neither do Americans. That's why Cinco de Mayo is such a party -- A party that celebrates freedom and liberty. There are two ideals which Mexicans and Americans have fought shoulder to shoulder to protect, ever since the 5th of May, 1862. VIVA! el CINCO DE MAYO!!

Thinking of You Book

Hello! I hope you are all having a great day! I have been at my local library all day teaching a paper bag book class to kids! It's been a long and very fun day. I had my 2 girls with me too. Whew. This project I have today is a book I made for my bff who is in New Zealand doing amazing things and spreading the word of God. I love her for that and for being so brave. She is amazing.

I used some quotes for the BGC A Little Bird Told Me emails I get and picked some that mean a lot to me and used them in this book. I hope she reads them when she feels down or misses me.

I'm sure you know YMH has awesome stuff but have you tried the Glimmer Glam by Tattered Angels yet? Well, if not you should. I love it. I used it all through this book to add some color and sparkle to my pages and to some embellishments.

I used Lipstick Pink and painted it on over my acrylic paint. I love the sparkle and there's lots of it!

You can add as many layers as you want.

I used Chandelier over the clouds and Tide Pool and Lipstick Pink on the bird.

Altered Bird Cage

Happy Thursday and Happy St. Patty's Day too!

Today I have an embellished bird cage. I bought this bird cage at Michaels and it was super cute but I saw potential for PRIMA! I added Prima felt, note card, flowers and lace! I also used Wheatfields Glimmer mist over the whole thing. I let it puddle on the feet and it's super grungy with a pretty sparkle. Love that!

I inked the edges of the note cards and the flowers. These flowers have the chunky glitter already on them. Love that too!

The Prima lace really added the final touch. I even sprayed it with glimmer mist too. I love how it looks like I've had if forever!

Altered Picture Frame

I have been having issues posting today so I am going to do this fast! I bought this frame at the Dollar Store for $1. I lightly sanded the edges and laid it flat on a towel. I sprayed it with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist and let it pool and dry. The text in the background still comes through but it gives it a grungy look.

The Prima flowers and leaves are super pretty and I sprayed them with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.

I added a piece of Prima paper in the center until I figure out a picture to put in it. I love the way it turned out! So go check out YMH for yummy supplies and alter something in your house. Give something a fresh look with some Prima flowers or Lace!

Recycled Can Desk Organizer for Glue Dots®!

Earth Day is coming up and I wanted to do a project with recycled items. Here I have 3 different aluminum cans and I cleaned them out and primed them with white gesso. I used green paint and after applying 2 coats of green paint and letting it dry completely I used sand paper to rough it up a bit.

The piece of twine I saved from a Christmas gift and had it in my stash but I know they sell it at the Dollar Stores for cheap. The brown paper sack I used to make the banner, flowers and leaves I got from the grocery store the other day. I used some distress ink to grunge it up a bit. I used Glue Dots® Lines to attach the banner pieces to the top. They worked great. I used Glue Dots® Permanent to attach the twine and flowers. They are SO strong. Love that!

You could make one for a Teachers gift or make them for each of the Holidays. I wanted to keep this one simple to honor Earth Day. I hope you look around for something to Reduce - Reuse - or - Recycle.

Easter Wreath with Glue Dots®!

This wreath I made for Glue Dots® was super easy and something you can do in a flash! I had this wreath form I picked up from the Dollar Tree, they have different sizes too. I grabbed some Easter chip board pieces and applied Glue Dots® Permanent to the backs and stuck them on, easy as that!

The Glue Dots® held these flowers on even after I sprayed, well, more like doused them in Glimmer Mist. I used Glue Dots® Lines to help adhere some longer pieces.

Here I used Glue Dots® Permanent and sandwiched the chipboard together as well as adhere to the wreath form. They are super strong and nothing has moved since I assembled it. Love that.

Hello and Happy Thursday! For today's post I have Valentine's decor. I bought these candles at a dollar store for a little over $1 a piece. Nice! I wrapped some yarn around and added some paper doilies. I love the Prima Flowers and they add pop of unexpected color.

I love the fuzzy look and feel of the yarn.

I love the colors together and the chunky glitter already on the Prima flowers add sparkle too! I also Glimmer Misted the doilies with Dazzling Diamonds.

Spring Yarn Wreath

I've been noticing these yarn wreaths around lately and thought I would give one a try. I wanted to do a Spring one for Glue Dots®. If you are wondering if the Glue Dots® will stick to the yarn, YES they will, rather nicely I might add.

I used a straw wreath with the plastic left on because I liked the roundness it provided. I wrapped and wrapped the yarn around til it was covered completely. I used Glue Dots® craft to adhere my embellishments to the yarn.

I used the Glue Dots® Mini to adhere the bakers twine to the banner triangles.

I used Glue Dots® Pop Up to adhere the flowers that I wanted to add dimension to. They worked great.

I hope you give this a try! It was fun and inexpensive and the possibilities are endless!

Luv U Wall Hanging

Hello and Happy Thursday! Today I have an altered chip board page I made into a wall hanging. I used white gesso to cover up the brown and then used FolkArt paint #904 Lemonade to coat the whole thing. I used the backing to a felt Prima border as a mask then misted the bottom lightly with Dragonfly and Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist. I then lightly sprayed over the top, little butterfly and tiny flowers with Tutti Fruitti Glimmer Mist.

The butterfly I cut out of a Prima Fairy Flora journaling card. The flowers are gorgeous and the leaves and alphabets are Prima too. Yep, I love me some Prima! The lace across the bottom was white to begin with and I sprayed it with Tutti Fruitti Glimmer Mist. I used Prima lace to tie it all up. I just love the colors together.

Colts Banner by Isabel :) for Glue Dots®!

When I asked my oldest daughter what Colts craft she wanted to make she said a banner but not with the triangles, she wanted to use the circles. So, we thought about it and tried a few different ways and this is what she loved! It's surprisingly easy and has a great look.

She punched a bunch of circles in blue and white and then folded them all in half.

She put her Glue Dots Craft dots on the circles and then pressed the string in place.

Close the circle and press the Glue Dots® and it keeps it nice and secure.

I love the look and even the hubs likes it. She also used a circle in between to evenly space them out. I love that she thinks of the details like that. I'm so proud. (tear) lol

I think she did a great job and now wants to make some for her room. Why not!

Make your own pom poms!

When I received the challenges from Glue Dots I was excited to see kids crafts on the list. I love to get my girls involved with me and letting them be creative. They are free to play and experiment. They often surprise me with the things they come up with. Super Bowl crafts were on the list too and since we are a proud Colts family here and I wanted to include the the two. I asked me 5 year old what she wanted to make and she instantly said...pom poms! HHmmmm, how can we make some pom poms that she can do. So....this is what the two of us came up with.......

We cut out crepe paper to about the same length and she used her Glue Dots® Craft to adhere them down layering them.

She loves Glue Dots® and thought it was pretty cool that Mommy handed the roll over to her. :)

Mommy helped with this part. :)

I loved her little handwriting on the center. Too cute!

The crepe paper makes an awesome pom pom sound too. She LOVED it and we made a few for her to have. They will be put to good use when the Colts play again!

I hope this inspires you to think outside the box, like my daughter did me. It was a lot of fun and the best part was spending crafty time with her and seeing her so proud of our creation. Adorable.

I love this picture of my oldest daughter Isabel. The paper I found in the Prima Sasha paper pack was just the right color. I tore up a piece of book text and the gorgeous Prima flowers really pulled everything together. I love the Prima lace. It adds a "fancy" touch to the layout which I liked because she is all dolled up.

I used a couple Fairy Flora gems to add some sparkle.

Check out that lace! It's so beautiful and fun to work with. Those itty bitty roses are a must have for your stash! You can paint them, mist them, color them any way you want.

Paper Star Ornaments

I saw this the other day in an email and I recognized it was the same concept as the Marion Smith Mini Pocket Book so I wanted to try it. I had this gorgeous paper from Studio 8 called Evergreen. I cut 6 strips 1"x3" and six strips 1"x4". Then glue the edges together of a shorter piece inside the longer piece and set aside to let dry. The glue the other edges together. Next glue all the pieces together and this is what you get.

I used Prima lace to hang it on the tree. I like the antiquey look. I also used brown corduroy distress ink on all the edges to cover up the white paper and grunge it up a bit.

I think I'll make some more with the girls and use lots of colors and glimmer mist. You could make a super cute garland out of these and if you changed the length of you paper you can make your stars any size you want. Just make one piece an inch longer.

Joy Banner - BLOG HOP

HELLO! I hope you are enjoying the Blog Hop! I made this banner with paper from The Sasha Paper Collection by Prima. The lace and trim are Prima too.

These Winter Roses are beautiful and they already have sparkle on them. I lightly misted them with Wheatfields Glimmer Mist to add a touch of color.

The letters were brown chipboard and I used mod podge to attach the glitter. I used Key Lime Pie, Lily Pad and Olive Vine Glimmer Mist to get the color I wanted.

I added the Prima brown trim along the back of the banners.

Birthday Cupcake Picks

I have been looking recently at Birthday Party things for my oldest daughter who is turning 8 five days after Christmas. First of all, the sets are all so expensive and secondly she does NOT want Dora, Princess or Bratz anything so what am I supposed to do. Well, why not grab some supplies and Glue Dot® and make her something more personal. I am going to do a matching banner with her name to take to the skating rink with us to hang up. This one is extra sparkly for the Birthday Girl.

Here are 6 cupcake picks for her to have in her cupcakes. (I have more don't worry) :)

She really likes them and my youngest daughter has already picked out the paper she wants me to use for her Birthday cupcakes in June. lol

I didn't have any cupcakes on hand but I did have brownies! They would be cute if you used Glue Dot® Pop Up dots and attached letters of the Birthday Girl's name and stick them on a sheet cake.

Here are some quick pics on what I used to put these together. They were sooo easy and really the Birthday Girl could help assemble them.

The scalloped circles I punched were 31/2 and 2 5/16. You could use any nesting shape you want. I like the layered look and that makes it super easy. I used matching paper on mine on the front and back but you don't have to. I placed my Glue Dot® on the paper and stuck the pick on one then matched up the scallops and pressed them together. I used 3 or Glue Dots for each one. It was fast and easy. I inked all the edges and added some glitter glue. That's it. With all the beautiful and themed paper out there don't forget you can make party supplies for a fraction of the cost.

Love Banner

This Valentine banner was so fun to make and Glue Dots® made it SO easy to put it all together. I got the opportunity to play with the new Micro Glue Dots® and they are so cool and TINY! I used them to adhere the lace to the cardstock and to keep the pearls in place. They are a great addition to my stash!

I used Glue Dots® Craft and Mini dots to attach the flowers and the sentiment and Pop Up dots to under the letters to add dimension.

I used Glue Dots® Lines to attach the long piece of ribbon to all the banner pieces. This was easy to make and could be customized for any occasion.

I cut my first banner out of a piece of scrap paper to make sure the size was what I wanted and then I just traced and cut out the patterned paper and inked all the edges. I made the pin wheel flowers out of strips I cut 1 1/2 by about 16-18 inches long. I scored the strips at 1/2 an inch the entire length. I used the scraps so some may have been a little longer than others but you can make them whatever size you like. The possibilities are endless. My daughter wants one with her name on it for her 8th Birthday this month. I think I can do that!

So...get some Glue Dots® and make something pretty!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their Thanksgiving! I sure did. Today I have a LWP Mini Pocket Album that I did and I LOVED it. The Prima papers are so nice and thick and easy to work with. I love all the flowers and that brown trim is so sparkly. I really like the journal cards and there are A LOT in there.

I like the versatility of this project, it's an album AND a decoration! :)

The little journal spot in the corner was punched from the packaging of one of the flowers. I really like the attention to detail, even in the packaging.

The pockets are so cool and the journal cards fit perfect! I even used some Prima packaging for one.

I love how it folds out and you can use it as a table decoration. This would be a great Christmas gift as well!

Sisters Wall Hanging

Hello! Today I have a wall hanging I made for a friend for her sister for Christmas. The Prima flowers were the perfect touch to add some elegance to this project and nothing is done til it's got some Prima Bling!

I found this metal hanger at Hobby Lobby in the clearance aisle. Not exactly sure what it was for but it was 70 cents and it worked perfectly. The Prima Lace was the finishing touch.

Fall Candle Holder

Hello crafty friends! Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful day. Today I have a candle holder that I decorated with a Prima Felt, Prima Flowers and Prima Leaves. It was super easy and I love all the colors together. I used beans on the inside for some extra color and texture. I really like how it all turned out.

This was made with more things from the LWP Kit "Sweet Girl". See how far these kits can go and I still have some things left over!

Give Thanks Votive Holder

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and after getting out my decorations I realized I don't have much for this holiday. I found this glass candle holder for under $3 and thought the color was great for a fall theme. I used Glue Dots® Mini Dots to attach the ribbon to itself and to the glass. The Glue Dots Lines were perfect for the tag.

I attached the leaves with Glue Dots® Mini on each side and stuck them in and pressed down. It worked great!

I love how the Glue Dots® attached everything to the glass. It holds super tight and secure.

Hello Crafty Friends! Hope you are enjoying your day. Here's a layout I did this morning with a Prima Clear Paintable, Prima paper, Prima Packaging, Prima Bling and Prima flowers. I love all this pink for Allie, it's very fitting for my girly girl. To "paint" the Paintable I used Sharpie markers to fill in the design and then used a very small paint brush with Alcohol Blending Solution on it to blend the colors and make them look like water color paints. You can also use the ABS to take off any mistakes as well.
You could cut the Clear Paintable any way you want. I left mine a tad bigger than the picture on one side to draw the eye. It comes in a sheet 12x12 of 4 different designs. You can use the extra sheets as pages in a 6x6 acrylic album.

Once again my project features things from the Sweet Girl Live with Prima kit. What's that now..4 projects and I still have some things left to play with!

The strip across the middle was cut from the packaging of the Clear Paintable. And it was a huge piece so I have more to add to my stash.

So...step out of your comfort zone and try some Clear Paintables! They are a lot of fun. Make sure you check out the Your Memories Here store for fun and new products added all the time!

Moving ahead and thinking Christmas!

Ok...I know it's a tad bit early but I had some iridescent ornaments and had an idea for a use for my Glue Dots®. I used a little bit of paint and water swirled around the inside of one and some Glue Dots® Craft dots and Continuous Lines. The Sparkly Fluff from Our Craft Lounge in Very Cherry Red was perfect for the look I was going for.

The one below is a plain ornament I scooped some Sparkly Fluff into and swirled around. It stuck to the sides and added a shimmer of color and was really pretty.

You could embellish these in any way you choose. You could use your Glue Dots® and add flowers or ribbons too. The possibilities are endless and I love that!

Halloween Prima Can

Hello! I've had a busy week with Halloween preparations, work, and kids home sick from school. So, this project was quick and easy and turned out so cute! I used the Prima French Swirl Felt from the Sweet Girl LWP kit and wrapped it around a Prima flower can. I used Prima flowers misted with Glimmer Mist and a felt pumpkin and a little bit of ribbon. You could really use up some left overs with a project like this. If you didn't want to stick the felt ribbon on permanently you could leave the back on and use removable glue dots to hold it in place until after the Holiday. This would be sooo pretty with red and white mints with the white felt ribbon for Christmas. I love a project with sooo many possibilities. :) I have to admit the level of candy corn has changed a bit since I took these photos! I hope you all have a safe and FUN Halloween!

Gather Together Mini Album

Hello crafty friends! This is a mini album I made out of one sheet of Prima paper and 2 pieces of cardboard I cut out of a cereal box. First I used my corner rounder and then I used gesso on the cardboard then painted it brown. I wadded up and then tore up a brown paper lunch sack and used matte mod podge to adhere the torn up strips to the cardboard. There is no right or wrong way to do that, just make sure to overlap some of the pieces. I set that aside and folded and cut up my piece of paper to make the album inside. I used my Martha Stewart scoreboard but anything would work. I scored at 3,6 and 9 inches, turned the paper once and did it again. Then, I used a straight edge and cut the paper to look like a M. Making sure to leave the squares attached. Then I folded it all together and attached some of the pieces together to make "pages". I left the two pieces on the ends free to attach to the cardboard.

I used this beautiful piece of Prima trim to tie it together. The paper, trim and flowers are from the Sweet Girl Layout Kit from Live with Prima. You don't have to do exactly what they do! My last post was the other sheet of paper from that kit as well!

The gorgeous flowers and leaf are Prima and the scallop rectangle behind the sticker was punched from the packaging from the flowers. It was perfect! I used my distress ink to ink it all up for a grungy look.

My plan was to use this for Thanksgiving pics and journaling but you could make it for ANY occasion and would make a super cute brag book. :)

Halloween Paper Gift Bag

Hello Everyone! Today I have a paper gift bag made out of a single sheet of Prima paper then I added a 6x4 inch topper folded in half and placed over the top. Punched some holes and tied it all together. I HAD to add some gorgeous Prima flowers and trim. I sprayed the topper with Glimmer Mist and let it pool and puddle then I dried it with a heat gun to get the look in the picture.

This flower was pure white before I sprayed it with the charcoal chalkboard glimmer mist. I used a tiny paint brush dipped in the mist to get into the crevices. It's gorgeous. The trim was a soft gray before I sprayed it too. And here is what the paper on top looked like before I sprayed it and below is after.

Dottess Post - Halloween Window for Glue Dots

Hello Everyone! Here's my post for Glue Dots. This is an old antique barn window that I cleaned up. The people that own a barn near my property gave me 40 antique windows! I couldn't believe it, so this is what I did with one of them. The green on the frame was original and I liked it so I just gave it a wash with some watered down black paint and I added the drippage at the top too. I cut out the canvas from an 11x14 framed canvas. I used glimmer mist to get the colors I wanted. The flowers are all attached with Glue Dots Craft. The chipboard banner was glimmer misted and attached with Glue Dots Pop Up Dots as well as the sparkly spiders and the skeleton. I used Glue Dots Craft Dots to adhere the canvas to the glass and it worked great! I used the Glue Dots Lines to stick the felt Halloween on the canvas as well as the spider web at the bottom to the sides of the window. I used the Glue Dots Mini Dots to keep the spider web in place.

The Glue Dots kept everything well adhered to the canvas even with the glimmer mist on there. I love how they keep all the flowers stuck together. Whether they are felt, paper, silk, velvet it doesn't matter. They are well attached to each other and to the project.

Here's a picture of it in the window so you can see how the glass shows through.

Here it is on my mantle in my living room.

Even the hubs likes it! :) The best part is that everything is well attached and you can't see one bit of adhesive. Love them GLUE DOTS!

Halloween Mini for Glue Dots

Hello Everyone! Halloween is just around the corner! Wouldn't this be so cute to put pictures of all the fun the kids had that night in an album like this?! I made this Halloween mini book for my very first post for Glue Dots. I attached my paper lunch bags by folding the flap over and attaching two bags together by putting them flap to flap and using a piece of paper and then attached them all together. Don't worry, I'll show you. I used black acrylic paint to distress the album. I used Glue Dots Lines to attach the paper to the album. I used the pop up Glue Dots under the embellishments to add some dimension. The flowers are all layered with the Glue Dots Craft dots and attached to the book with them as well. They are a dream to work with and held everything securely, even after I glimmer misted them.

Here I used the Glue Dots Continuous Lines to attach the ball trim. It was so easy!

Here's the list of everything I used then I will show you how I attached the bags together to get the flap for extra pics. I also left the bag ends open in case I have extra pictures or I decide to make big tags to put in there for journaling. There are lots of possibilities with this type of album.

Ok...here's how I attached the paper lunch bags together. You can find these anywhere and it doesn't matter what size you use. In the book I made I used 6 paper lunch bags all attached together like this.

You can leave your flaps open if you want or use Glue Dots Craft Dots to close them like I did.

Once you attach all the signatures together use your Glue Dots Mini Dots to close all the gaps and flaps til you have the look you want. I used the black acrylic paint to paint the spine and then dry brush over the pages.

So, there ya have it. I hope you try it yourself! Just think of the possibilities!

Welcome Sign

I drug out all my fall and Halloween totes and my welcome sign I made last year was all bent and wonky so I used the scrap piece of paper from the round fall hanging I got from Your Memories Here and did a dark color wash over it to change it up a bit. I adhered it to a piece of cereal box cardboard to add some stability and distressed the edges with my scissors. I painted over the edges with ink and color wash to add to the distressed look. I generously sprayed wheatfields glimmer mist over the entire thing, even the flower to add some sparkle and it does have a very pretty sheen to it. I needed something for my Prima pearls so I made this flower out of a piece of scrap fabric and added some Prima leaves. YMH has an awesome selection of Prima and gorgeous paper for you to make your own fall welcome sign. Why buy something when you can make your own...right? I will be sure to pack this away more carefully! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Happy Thursday Everyone! I made this fall wall hanging out of a piece of cardboard that was wrapped in foil under a pizza! I covered it with this corrugated cardboard and then added the fun stuff. I can't believe it! I made the Glue Dots design team! I am SOO excited to be on this team. I have been thinking about all the fabulous things I can make with YMH things and Glue Dots! I can't wait to get started and lucky for me the first thing I do is for HALLOWEEN! My favorite Holiday and YES to me it is a Holiday. I have already been thinking about what I want to make. I should be getting my box of Glue Dots goodies soon and then it's PLAY time! :)

Wow not having Internet service for a few days really puts things into perspective huh? I don't like feeling so "out of the loop"! I have my iphone but still it's not the same. Prima Tin

Hello Everyone! Happy Thursday! I had a lot of fun playing with this little Prima tin I got from Your Memories Here. I used the Tim Holtz Crackle Distress paint in Shabby Shutters to paint it then I put a coat of clear gesso on it to keep it from flaking off so much. I sprayed the corner of a damp rag with Adirondack wash in Espresso to lightly rub over it to distress it even more. There's not much you couldn't do to this tin and I love that! I used Prima flowers, leaves, Pearl swirls, and lace trim to decorate it. Of course I had to glimmer mist the flowers and leaves with Dazzling Diamonds too! I used the Pearls packaging and distressed the edges of that too to use inside the tin to add some interest through the little picture window. You could put whatever you want in there. Hello Everyone Kim here again! I created this wall hanging using fun things you can find at YMH! The frames are from Chatterbox that I painted brown, accented with a cream and then distressed with some sand paper. The flowers, leaves and bling are Prima and I just used some string I found at walmart to tie everything together. I used my big bite crop a dile to punch holes through the wood frames. After walking through Michael's the other day with a friend and seeing all the fall colors out I was craving making something with those colors. I love fall and all the warm colors. I have a feeling it will be here before we know it. Which is ok with me. :)

Hello everyone! Kim here with my first post for You Memories Here. I know Kristina is having computer problems so I can't contact her with any questions so, I'm winging it! I have not had an Internet Connection almost all day so I want to kind of hurry and get this posted before I lose it again!
This layout I did of my wedding day 8 years ago. The gorgeous patterned paper (I think is Imaginisce, my tab is missing I cut off the bottom) worked so good with the photo and the I know the pink polka dot paper is Imaginisce, All Kinds of Happy - Pink Frosting With Sprinkles. The Prima pink pearls and Bling can also be found at YourMemoriesHere.com. The Dazzling Diamonds glimmer mist adds sparkle to the whole thing. I dipped a paint brush into the glimmer mist and painted over the frame and it looks great. The ChatterBox frame was a perfect spot to put the date. Isn't this cute! It's sooo simple to make too! Here's some pics to demonstrate how I made this one. The same technique works with a wide variety of fun trims too, the rufflier the better!

So, I bought this at walmart because I was sooo tired of ruining my shirts. SO, I spruced it up today with the help of my 2 little girls and I like how it turned out. And yes, I will actually wear and use it. Why not right? It was like $5 and I can always make another one!

I wish I wasn't so tired and I could paint. Tomorrow is a new and fresh day. I don't think we have anything going on which will be nice after the jam packed 2 weeks we had. I sure do miss and love my niece. She'll be 13 in a couple weeks and that just plain makes me feel old. I can't wait til next summer til she comes back. I think we may go swimming tomorrow at our friends house and lounge by the pool for awhile. Who knows maybe when we get home the kids will take a nap and I can get something done, caught up or started. I have many projects in the works right now which I absolutely love. I have things for others and things for myself. I better get busy on the things for others! I do have a couple deadlines coming up but I work pretty good under pressure. I have been booked for a fundraiser next month and really need to get some things done for my booth there. I may run to check on my booth at Trader Buck's tomorrow. Hope it's not a mess. Sometimes people don't always put things back where they were. I love having it though. My brother is working on peg board walls to enclose my 9x9 space so I have LOTS more display space. I cannot wait to paint and decorate and make it creatively fabulous!

MAN has it been a busy 2 weeks. So unusual for us but with my niece in from TN we've been doing something almost every day and every night. Last night was cosmic bowling in Lafayette In. It was so much fun and I think I got beat by a 5 yr old and it was her first time ever bowling! HA! The kids had a blast and even though we got home at midnight it was a great time. We will for sure be doing that again....but much earlier. I am taking my niece back to her mom on Monday. We meet half way in Louisville and we will miss her so much. My girls just adore her and fight over her constantly. Sit by me...sit by me is what I hear the most so in the middle is her spot! lol
I hope to enjoy these last couple days with her then it's back to boring for us. I haven't been doing much crafts lately although we did have scrap night one night. It was a lot of fun.

Went to my cousins farm today with my girls, my niece and my mom. We had so much fun petting goats and sheep and seeing the chickens. My girls are wanting some sheep and goats now and have told me 45 places where they could stay in our yard AND in the house! They are such animal lovers. The 2 dogs loved Allie and Isabel was enthralled by the egg she got to collect and prominently announced...I'M GOING TO BE A MOM! HA! We all about died laughing. We can't wait to go visit again! I have been one busy girl. With the kids and life and housework it's hard to find time to be creative. Especially without interruptions. BUT...Grandpa to the rescue. He called yesterday and asked for the girls to come over for a sleepover. He's been out of town for a couple weeks and we've all missed him. So, I might have some time to get some projects done. I was asked to put together a scrapbook kit for a girl's birthday present and am SO excited about that and what a GREAT idea! I also have a scrap lesson with Kaelee today. She's 10 and loves to scrap and we have a great time. She is a scrappy sponge and is an awesome student! Ok.....I better get ready she'll be here soon!

The kids are in bed anxious to go to Grandma's tomorrow! Weather permitting they are going to the pool to play for awhile and I am going to get my hair highlighted! Another storm this morning with torrential downpour. I know the corn appreciates all the rain we've had I think it's grown a foot this week alone. Seriously. I am going to go pay rent today on my Booth for my first month and have to say I am very pleased with how I have done. I love being able to have scrapbooks and supplies and paper and all things crafty to sell. It also allows me to be creative in other ways too. I have an outlet finally and it's a lot of fun. I do however need a Nanny to watch the kids so I can have some craft/scrap time. They are summer crazy right now and easily bored and easily aggravated with each other. :/ I keep telling myself, they will BOTH get on the school bus this fall. How weird will that be? I'm not sure if I'm going to cry or do cartwheels. Maybe both.

Hello again. I am still trying to figure things out. I have a blog date with my cousin soon to help me sort things out if I am still having issues. I am looking forward to adding things and documenting life with my 2 little girls, huge hairy dog and the hubs. Would like to say Good Job to my 7 year old daughter on her 1st place finish last night. She loves to race her go kart and I love to see her succeed. She's so tough and isn't intimidated by them boys either. Girls RULE! Ok...off to dream land. Last night I had a dream that my friend Alyssa and I were at walmart heckling customers. Weird huh? Yah! I am finally up and running! It took me a minute to figure this all out and with constant interruptions from the girls it's been a task! I plan to use this Blog to post pics of the projects I'm working on, alone and with friends. I have a booth at Trader Buck's in Crawfordsville and will post things I make for there here as well. If there's anything you are interested in please contact me and I will pull it and we can make arrangements. I have a crazy life out here in the middle of nowhere as my kids say. Rural Indiana can be fun but very quiet, which is the part I like. I try to find time everyday to do something creative. I love all things scrapbook and artsy. I am currently taking a Suzi Blu Petit Dolls class and will post on how that is going. I love Suzi and she makes me want to create all day every day. I wish the kids would let me! I am going to go try and figure out how to upload pictures of projects I have already done as well as works in progress. Here I go....be back after while. :)
